Welcome to this month’s BRAVE Interview with Jane Fecteau!
- WHO are you? Hi! My name is Jane Fecteau. I am a medical intuitive, energy healer and I specialize in helping people with chronic pain and chronic illness conditions using energy healing methods. Over the years, I have trained many practitioners in the same healing techniques that I use every day. These trademark techniques help my clients attain greater levels of health and balance in all aspects of their lives; physical, emotional, spiritual and Life Path. Although I taught many practitioners with in person classes, I wondered how many more people I could help if I had an on-line school! From this perspective I could help anyone in the world, from across all stages and phases of life, who want to commit their lives to healing others. In my 19 years of practice I’ve established a client base in all 50 states and a sizable amount from all across the world. As I served more people, I realized I could do even more if I had a school.
- WHAT is your One Brave Thing? My One Brave Thing was launching a mini online course! In order to reach my big goal of opening an online school, I started off with a pilot school using tools and resources that were a perfect balance of familiar and unfamiliar. I offered a 6-week course in a closed Facebook group just for emerging healers (meaning, people who have had some form of energy healing training and are thinking about launching their own healing practice). Although this was a pilot, I had to learn entirely new skills!
- WHEN did you do it?I launched the class on the January 19th, 2018, although there were a few posts leading up to the actual launch starting in Dec 2017.
- WHERE did it occur? I hosted it on Facebook as an application-approved only closed group.
- HOW did you make it happen? Just like my own students needed me as their personal guide and coach, I also made the investment in a coach and thought partners who could help me plan out and execute the entire project from start to finish: from lesson plans, to student homework assignments, and all of my video lessons and live broadcasts! I needed coaching and confidence to help me stay on track with this Brave Thing: especially since it required so many new skills I never knew I had before!
This was the very first time I was ever in a situation where I was learning how to do something that I wanted in order to help other people. It was a very humbling, vulnerable and emotional process and I discovered so many different parts of myself as a teacher and a leader in this work. Now that the course has ended and I’m currently on my way to launching the full version of my online school, I feel absolutely incredible and accomplished. All my participating students surprised me with their incredible feedback about the powerful value of the messages, teachings, and techniques I shared with them in just six weeks. It really shook me to my core that something so low-risk could have such a powerful impact on so many people. It opened my eyes up to realize how much more I still have ahead of me to do and accomplish in launching the full version online – but – I know what I absolutely capable of now, more than ever!
- WHY did you do it? As I mentioned earlier, the demand for training was starting to emerge as I started working more in my healing practice and had inquiries from my clients about training. It’s really hard for individuals to fly out and do in-person trainings, and, there are so many powerful tools out there that can bring so many people together to accomplish something truly wonderful. Although I still have dreams of opening an in-person school someday, the mere thought of realizing how many people I can reach online is beautifully overwhelming. I will be releasing a full version of my course on Teachable.com, so stay tuned!
Many Blessings, Jane
