I was walking at the beach when I had a strong “Cinderella” feeling. I suddenly knew that I needed to watch that movie again, that there was a message there for me.
The feeling was so strong that as soon as I got back from my walk, I took action.
I checked with my library and discovered that they had a copy of the movie, which I requested. When it arrived, I realized I had not ordered the “correct” version of Cinderella. I got the theatrical version instead of the cartoon original version. Doh!! I was disappointed at first.
I decided to watch it anyway.
But (I’m sure you are way ahead of me on this!) there really are no mistakes, right? It was exactly the version I was supposed to watch. I felt the guidance begin streaming almost from the first word spoken.
I share it here with you.
Wisdom from Cinderella:
Cinderella felt excluded, left out, but had a mantra that helped get her through the tough times, wisdom that she had received from her mother before her death. These words were a reminder that even though she couldn’t be with her physically, she was always still with her in spirit : “Have Courage. Be Kind.”
You are always supported and protected, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Believe.
The vibrant blue color of her dress suggests the throat chakra, reminding you to speak up for yourself, speak the truth, speak your truth.
If you aren’t feeling like you are ready for the role, you can still ‘act as if’ you are.
The Pumpkin suggests expansion. The Chariot (like the tarot card) tells us: Keep moving forward!
Best quotes from the movie:
This is perhaps the greatest risk that any of us will take: to be seen as we truly are.
Remember who you are.
She wondered, Was who she was, who she really was, enough?
When the time comes, you will know what to do.
When you know, you know.
Aim high.
The full moon illuminates the way.
We need not look outside of our borders. We already have everything we need.
Thanks Karen. Lovely and inspirational thoughts. You are such a blessing!!!
Thank you, Patti! I feel the same way about you. I am looking at the lovely fox and fairy artwork that you made. I keep it right here at my desk, where it inspires me daily. <3
Have you read the Grimm Brothers’ Aschenputtel? Original Cinderella story….a slightly darker version. We’re never to old to learn from fairy tales. Thanks for sharing this.
Kristen, when I was a girl I had a book of the original Grimm’s and I remember that they were dark!! Maybe I should revisit them as an adult? “Go back to go forward!”
I just love the meaning in this, Karen! It makes me realize that I must listen to those little urges to seek something out. Thank you for not keeping this to yourself!
Yes! We all get those ‘little urges’ every day, and I am often guilty of letting them come in one ear and out the other. I decided to PAY ATTENTION now, because those urges are the Universe speaking to us! I think that because it sounds like our own voice, we can be dismissive. No more! And I would love to hear about any thought you have that you DO follow up on, and how it turns out for you, Dara! <3
