I chose the word Brave this year as my one word.

Here is a list of things I accomplished (just off the top of my head) in 2015 so far that I would not have if I not chosen this word:
- Got on an airplane for the first time since 1989
- Let two (non family members) read the draft of my first novel
- Created a Pecha Kucha slideshow which I presented to a group of about 200 people at show in Kennebunkport (did I mention that I am terrified of public speaking?)
- Volunteered at The Dempsey Challenge in the Reiki Tent
- Created my website and Facebook page to get my business started
- Made some videos and posted them to a work-in-progress YouTube channel and then gave a small group of people access to (gasp!) view them
This is not a complete list. I am sure the moment that I post this I will think of dozens other Brave Things I have done this year, but so what? The point is that my life is different less than one year later because I chose this word.

I am very proud to be volunteering at The Dempsey Challenge
this weekend.
I was first drawn to Patrick Dempsey as a fan when I discovered that he has dyslexia. This caught my attention because dyslexia runs in my family. I often point to him as a role model for children with dyslexia: “Look what he is doing! You can do anything!”
I love a quote about dyslexia from Patrick Dempsey on The Power of Dyslexia’s website: “It’s made me who I am today.” Hmmm…hopefully, he really did say that. (If it’s on the internet, it must be true, right?) Keep reading

I have a lot of Angel Card and Oracle Decks. Full disclosure: I am a collector of the things that I love.
🙂
Up until now, I haven’t been drawn to the fairy cards, at least not to the point of actually purchasing a deck.
Then my friend Stacey gave me this deck, Magical Times Empowerment Cards by Jody Bergsma. I appreciated the gift, but no thrill of anticipation went through me as I held them.
I brought them home. I put them down. I went on with my life for a few days.
And then.
And then, I heard them calling me. I retrieved them from the shelf. I opened them up. I started working with them and surprise! I really love them! I have been drawn to them again and again to pull a card for the day, to supplement a reading from another deck, or just to hold them.
I pulled a card for you, my readers, tonight: Keep reading

I heard about Pecha Kucha last spring when I attended The Enlightenment Expo. Kristi Borst shared her Pecha Kucha presentation that she created with her amazing art.
Next I saw a small ad for a Pecha Kucha show that was being held in Kennebunkport last May. Pecha Kucha? Japanese for ‘chit chat’. You present 20 sides in 20 seconds, for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. My daughter and I went.
We loved it.
Next, I got an email from The Pecha Kucha Committee; they were looking for presenters for the August show. I had this crazy idea. What if I submitted a bid to be the show? A title even came to me: My Road to Reiki. Keep reading
by Karen Creamer | Aug 14, 2015 | Angels
I saw an ad for an open house at a local business and felt an inexplicable urge to go. Since this year I made the commitment to not argue with my intuition, I went.
On the way, I was talking to my husband about my paternal grandmother who died in 2004. After we got there, I poked around and found a pair of kissing angels in one of the boxes marked “Attic Sale”. Immediately, I got that huge welling up of emotion (complete with inappropriate public tears) that I know is my intuition telling me that something big is happening and I need to pay attention.
