A Tale of Two Statues

I found this statue at a local thrift store a couple of months ago. I immediately felt it calling and as soon as I picked it up, I could not put it down.

Has this ever happened to you? It was an immediate, strong connection between me and the little statue. The angel is pictured with two children, a boy and a girl (is what I see), which is also what I have. Of course, this is probably a big part of what drew me to it. Anyway, I love it. I have been keeping it on my bureau where I see it frequently.

I checked it for any signature or markings that might identify where it came from, but there were none.

Imagine my surprise when I found another one very much like it at a Goodwill Store a couple of weeks ago!

It’s a sort of a mirror image of the first one. The colors are different, and the angel’s hands are in a different position, but otherwise they are so very alike! This second statue sits on my desk. Keep reading

Drift Away

I was scrolling through FB this morning and noticed this post on my friend Donna‘s page (by way of the Realm of the Witch‘s page):

I thought. oh, that was my dad’s favorite flower.

I scrolled some more and then I saw this post on Pieces of Soul FB page:

I thought, oh, that was one of my dad’s favorite songs.

I started wondering what the date was … and then I realized what was happening:

The Ides of March approacheth!

My father died on The Ides of March, March 15, 1998, about two years and two weeks after my mother died (both from cancer).

I realized that dad was saying Hello from Heaven!

So pay attention to the signs and symbols that come your way, or you might miss out on something important!

The BRAVE Interview #9 April 2017: Charlotte

Please enjoy this month’s BRAVE interview with Charlotte!

Who are you? I am a Registered Nurse, a Mom to 3 adult children (where has time gone?!), and a 5 month Golden Retriever named Charlie. I was born and raised in Maine, and have lived here ever since. I live in the small town of Limerick, Maine, a quiet country town.

What is your ‘one brave thing’? My One Brave Thing?  Let’s see. I have done a few brave things up to this point in my life, but the one I’d have to say that tops all was taking care of my terminally ill brother. He was 51 yrs old when diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, mets to the brain. His wish was to get home to Maine to die. I had no choice but to be brave, and honor is wishes. It was a very difficult, emotional time. Keep reading

John Edward was in Portland, Maine

The last time John Edward came to Portland, I wanted to go. I’d read some of his books, taken some of his free online classes, and watched his TV show, Evolve. I couldn’t wait to see him in person!

Alas, was unable to find anyone to go with, so I stayed home.

This year when I saw he was coming again, I still wanted to go. I figured that if one year later I was still dying to see him, I had to go. The story was the same, though. I couldn’t find anyone to go with me. I also had family commitments that precluded me from going. Keep reading

Keepers of the Light Oracle Cards

I have a new favorite deck of oracle cards: Keepers of the Light Oracle Cards by Kyle Gray, with artwork by Lily Moses.  The images in this deck are beautiful, and there is just enough information on the cards themselves to get you rolling with receiving your message, and the expanded information in the booklet that comes with it can give depth to your readings  you might otherwise not find, especially if you are just starting out.

But this isn’t just for novices. I recommend this deck for people experienced with working with oracle cards as well. There are several layouts for your cards that are explained by Kyle Gray in the enclosed booklet, but of course, you can always just do whatever you are guided to do! Keep reading
