So as I mentioned in the previous post, my practice for the past several years has been to choose one word to focus on every year rather than making a list of resolutions. For 2021, however, I am breaking my resolutions-fast.
Here’s why: I spent a lot of time in 2020 trying to help people to see and know the truth about many things and for the most part, it was not effective. I know this because I think maybe only about 2 (padded estimate) people actually did appreciate and/or benefit from me doing this.
I was leading horses to water all day long so that they could drink but instead of drinking, they were dying of dehydration.
I couldn’t understand it! Why was this happening? And then I was talking to my friend Tatiana about it and as she so aptly put it:
“No one told them they were thirsty.”
BOOM.
Everyone has access to the same information that I do. Everyone can think for themselves. Everyone can analyze and vet the available information and make their own decisions, without any unsolicited help from me.
What a relief!
Because the truth is not the same for everyone. My truth is mine and your truth is yours and in many cases, never the twain shall meet. Also some people do not want to know the truth. It took me a year to wake up to this but now that I have, I am so relieved! I am only responsible for myself so from now on, I’ll do me and you do you.
This is what is driving my 2021 Trifecta of Resolutions:
- Do not talk about politics.
- Do not post anything on social media about politics.
- Do not comment on anyone’s social media posts about politics.
I just realized there’s actually one more resolution: Do not say the “C” word (“C” for “Cabal”) ever, ever again in front of my husband [don’t ask].
