I am not a person who reads ghost stories. I never go to see scary movies and never have.
That said, I wanted to read my friend Killarney’s book, so I decided to #bebrave and read it anyway.
Tale Half Told: A Christmas Ghost Story is a great book! It starts out with a brother and sister, Johnny and Linda, and a husband and wife, Michael and Susan, travelling together when they decide to take a brief detour. It turns into a nightmare. It’s a nightmare with a purpose, however. Their current situation parallels a tragic event from the past which somehow begins playing out in unusual ways in their present. Keep reading

I have a new book coming out (watch the book trailer here: Honor Your Health), so I decided it was time to update my head shot for the cover and the new website I was working on. Do any of you like to get your picture taken? I do NOT.
My former head shot was fairly painless to obtain, because the photographer who was doing my daughter’s senior high school pictures allowed me to tag along and she took a couple of shots of me, too. First, Karen, my dear sweet friend and devoted student of ten years (has it really been that long???), let me say congratulations on the new book and platform. I’m thrilled to be here discussing yoga for your new Honor Your Health series.
My name is Kristen Conley Leighton and I am a passionate yoga practitioner, dreamer, and storyteller.
I’ve been practicing yoga since 1994 and teaching it since 2005.
I’m the founder of Windsong Yoga which strives to bring old school yoga to diverse populations using modern language, a little bit of grace, and a whole lot of humor.
I can’t really remember making a conscious decision to teach yoga.

Several long conversations later, she encouraged me to sign up for a teacher training. Even thouhg I had no desire to teach, she assured me that I’d get answers to many of my questions. It seemed an odd place for me to be; after all, I was essentially kicked out of my very first yoga class (politely asked not to bring my anxious, hard-charging ass back). I’d spent ten years wandering in and out of different yoga classes, devouring the book, Light on Yoga, and practicing with Rodney Yee on VHS tapes (remember those?) when I timidly entered my first teacher training with Stephanie Keach in Asheville, North Carolina. I do a lot of things. For years, I have had multiple online presences. I had several websites and Facebook pages and was writing books and blog posts and so forth. Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube? Check, check, and check.
You are probably pretty busy and doing a lot of things every day, too, so maybe you can relate to this.
One day, someone said: Karen! I went to the website link you gave me, and then I followed the link to another one of your websites, and then I clicked on one of your pages, and now I am so confused! What is it that you do, exactly? Keep reading
