The Holistic Practitioner Series #10: Rachel Horton White: Hypnotist, Intuitive Reader, Life Coach, Mindfulness Teacher

Welcome to this month’s Holistic Practitioner Interview with Rachel Horton White, Hypnotist!

  1. WHO are you?

I am a mother of two energetic young children and wife to a talented musician and carpenter. I grew up in Portland, Maine, but did not always live here (in fact all I wanted to do was get out of Maine as a teenager)! When I was a junior at Wellesley College, I studied abroad in Dakar, Senegal. Based on the kindness, generosity and compassion I learned from the Senegalese, this experience changed my life and created a deep desire within me to help make the world a better place in some way. After teaching English in Guadalajara, Mexico after college, I went into non-profit management as a career, and got a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia. I worked for social services agencies for about 10 or so years. I got married, had my first child, and then my second child. Then I started to feel very burnt out of my helping profession, and got back in touch with my spiritual/intuitive roots (with much encouragement)! Keep reading

The Holistic Practitioner Series #9: Jody Breton: Shamanic Practitioner, Ceremonialist

Please enjoy this month’s interview with Jody Breton, Essence of Spirit Ceremonies!

After many years in the medical field as a Respiratory Care Practitioner I retired to follow my passion for Shamanism.

Studying with indigenous peoples since the 90’s as well as western practitioners from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and the Center for Earthlight Healing and others, I have been immersed in the practice of Shamanism for several decades. My deep connection and relationship with Nature and to the Spirit of ALL informs my life path and my holistic health practice for myself and others.

Shamanism is an ancient system of wisdom addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of self, the community and of Earth and beyond.

This wisdom is inherent throughout all cultures across the globe and has been practiced for over 50,000 years. The recent resurgence of Shamanism is in response to an awakening to our deeper connections to the web of life, to the mysteries of the unseen realms and from the calling of our ancestors, our earthly relatives in nature and the collective consciousness for healing on all levels. The Holistic Practitioner Series #8 December 2018: Deb Pouliot, Norwex Consultant

Please enjoy this month’s interview with Deb Pouliot, Norwex Independant Sales Consultant. Senior Executive Sales Leader!

1. WHO are you? I’ve been a teacher it seems…all my life. Aren’t we all? 🙂 I’m happily married, have 3 great kids and 7 amazing grandkiddos. I think they just get better with each generation! I taught middle school art for 28 years (loved it and still teach privately) and have recently retired thanks to Norwex. Currently I’m a Senior Executive Sales Leader which probably means absolutely nothing to you except I have to wear a red jacket sometimes and

I’m truly passionate about educating people on how to reduce chemicals in their homes.

2. =&0=& is your profession? Norwex is a direct sales company. (Not an MLM…I get that question a lot:) The company is, and I am, very passionate about education people at a more grass-roots level, one on one, rather than having the products in stores without the education. Just helping people make more educated, small steps to reducing chemicals and plastics in their lives is so rewarding. Norwex itself will be 25 years old this coming year. It started in Norway, hence NORWegian EXperience. It’s only been in the US since 2013. It all started with one microfiber cloth taking bugs off a windshield in Norway and has grown into a global company all over Europe, Australia, and North America.

Primarily, it’s teaching people how to clean with just water, mechanically (rather than chemically) removing up to 99% of bacteria and germs off a surface.

Once in the cloth (or mop), the trademarked BacLock, a microsilver technology, goes to work self purifying the cloth! The bacteria within the cloth is unable to respirate so it cannot replicate/colonize within the cloth. Thus, no mold, mildew or odor of stinky cloths, towels, etc…Less laundry too! Love that! 3. =&1=& did you decide that you wanted to help people in this way? It was quite accidental that Norwex entered my life. My oldest daughter, who was expecting twins at the time, asked me to drive her to a Norwex “party”. She wasn’t feeling well but wanted a night out with her friends. She assumed I liked to clean and thought I’d enjoy it. I reminded her of all the chore charts I had for the kids when they were growing up. I ended up driving her but sitting in the corner doing lesson plans while she enjoyed her friends. Then the demos began. The oven. The floors. The infamous butter demo. My mind was blown. This was fun!

I really wasn’t aware at all about how dangerous chemicals were for us. I assumed if they’re in the store, they’re safe.

At that time too, I was very money-conscious…still am. My husband of 31 yrs. had passed away and i was learning how to manage money so I was very careful. I loved how Norwex was really smart financially. One bag of Laundry Detergent lasts me for a year at that time! Plus it could be used for all other types of cleaning beside laundry. By the end of the evening, I wanted everything..especially the MOP! I asked the consultant to sign up to get the discount. I shared it one night at my home and in my classroom and BOOM, I had a business that enabled me to retire early from teaching! It’s been such a blessing in disguise. 4. =&2=& does a session occur? I like to share Norwex in a variety of ways. Primarily I do home classes (my personal fav) or Facebook classes. Lately I’ve added a Text Flex Class for guests to do on their phone at their convenience. Fundraisers are great, too, as I feel I’m making double the impact, helping a charity and sharing about reducing chemicals, saving money and time, helping the environment. I also do one on one consultations. 5.  =&3=&does it help people? This is my favorite part, testimonial after testimonial from customers. For some, it makes cleaning fun, fast and simple. They’re so happy…they’re taking a once miserable job, like floors for example, and making it quick and easy with no buckets, just water. For some, they’re noticing a change in their grocery bill. No more paper towels by the case! Less laundry. No more cleaners to buy. For some, they feel peaceful knowing that they’re doing their part for the environment. Norwex is all about sustainability. They truly are a company that walks the talk that’s debt free, makes their own electricity, extremely small carbon footprint, and creates products and uses packaging with all that in mind.

But real favorite part are the testimonials of health.

I’ve worked with many who have or are currently going through chemo that found that cleaning this way is what they love for their home and body (referring to the Body Cloths here for cleaning your body with just water….lots of cool science behind why that’s important). Also, this is important for clients who have had organ transplants. Norwex products have been helpful for people with skin issues like acne, eczema, psoriasis, keratosis and for babies. Another big group of clients Norwex has helped have respiratory issues, allergies, asthma. I could go on and on. And lastly, I do have a team and they have all their own stories of how Norwex has changed their lives. For me, I was able to retire early. For some, it’s a house payment, oil bill, financial relief to help out at home. Some just like having the products at a discount in their homes while others design incomes or just like a night out.  6. =&4=&do you do what you do? My Why has changed. Originally, I wanted to retire early, have more time with grandkiddos and have the freedom to do and teach art whenever. I got that:)

Now, I’m looking down the road to financial freedom to someday open a retreat center of sorts that offers different healing modalities (I’m also Reiki master), mediation areas, massage/spa, art therapy/classes and of course continue sharing Norwex!

The Holistic Practitioner Series #6 October 2018: Annji, Intuitive Mentor

Welcome to this month’s Holistic Practitioner Interview with Annji, Intuitive Mentor

1. WHO are you?
I am a mother, a wife and a friend to many. My given name is Karen Ann, which means “Pure Grace”. During the evolution of my Soul’s journey, I developed the surname “Annji”. The name “Ann” symbolizes grace and the suffix “Ji” is Hindi for “one of honor.” When I began this healing journey, I knew that I was here to make a significant impact on how people interact with themselves and one another.

I was told early on in this journey by The Divine: “You shall heal the healers.”

Each of us is a powerful healer. Some are here on a mission of healing others and how each of us proclaims this Spirit of Healing is unique to our Soul’s destiny. To be a healer means to be open to compassion, loving light, kindness, and to be a representative of this in all matters. Healing is about being imbued in our Self-acceptance and Unconditional Self-love. Keep reading
