Lately, I’ve been crazed and obsessed about the number of Instagram followers I had compared to the number of people and businesses I was following.
Here’s the breakdown:
Followers: 400-ish Following: 1200+
It never bothered me before, but for some reason, as we entered 2020, it was the only thing I could think about. I spent days checking to see who was I was following who was also following me, and let me tell you, among those who were not, there were some big surprises. Anyway, it’s been about a week but I have finally finished bringing it all into better balance.
While it felt kind of petty, I also felt very strongly that it was important that I do this, so I saw it through. I’ve learned quite a bit from this exercise. Keep reading

Emily Dickinson‘s poems have always appealed to me, ever since I can remember.
When I saw Apple TV’s series Dickinson was coming out, I was excited to see it. Thank you, Apple TV, for allowing me to watch the first two episodes free.
I was transfixed. Literally spellbound. I LOVED it. I loved the music. I loved Emily. Actress Hailee Steinfeld plays Emily as if she were a modern day woman living in the 1800’s. The effect of this is incredible. As I watched, she made me wonder how I would have survived if I lived in her time. I don’t think I would have done very well. My heart was full watching Hailee’s Emily struggle to be herself in a world where a woman being brave enough to be her true self was not welcome. [Wait, things really haven’t changed very much, have they?] Keep reading

This is probably not something you thought you’d need to factor into your decision-making.
Maybe you’re like me. I used to think that vaccine bottles contained some form of antigen and saline, and not much else.
And then I learned about mercury. And aluminum.
I thought these things were probably bad to have injected into our bodies. Alas, I did not know vaccines contained these and other materials when I was making most of my vaccine decisions.
I started to question the process after I became a nurse. In nursing school, I was taught that nurses need a physician’s order to administer a drug. After I graduated and was out in the ‘real world’, I learned about flu shots being given out in the community at senior centers and such. I asked how nurses could be giving these shots to people without a doctor’s order. I asked about the process of informed consent, which I was taught was required before any medical intervention. I know it doesn’t rhyme, but consider thinking Peach for breast cancer awareness and prevention this October, not Pink.
The person who created the idea to distribute peach ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention was Charlotte Haley in 1991. She was unhappy that only about 5% of the money being raised for breast cancer prevention by The National Cancer Institute (NCI) was actually going to research. The rest was going … elsewhere. What she did was pin peach ribbons to cards that said (in part):
“Help us wake up our legislators and America by wearing this ribbon.”

Why not do this: Find out exactly where the money you are donating to any breast cancer entity is actually going. Do that. Keep reading

Welcome to this month’s BRAVE Interview with Jane Fecteau!
WHO are you? Hi! My name is Jane Fecteau. I am a medical intuitive, energy healer and I specialize in helping people with chronic pain and chronic illness conditions using energy healing methods. Over the years, I have trained many practitioners in the same healing techniques that I use every day. These trademark techniques help my clients attain greater levels of health and balance in all aspects of their lives; physical, emotional, spiritual and Life Path. Although I taught many practitioners with in person classes, I wondered how many more people I could help if I had an on-line school! From this perspective I could help anyone in the world, from across all stages and phases of life, who want to commit their lives to healing others. In my 19 years of practice I’ve established a client base in all 50 states and a sizable amount from all across the world. As I served more people, I realized I could do even more if I had a school.

I have a new book coming out (watch the book trailer here: Honor Your Health), so I decided it was time to update my head shot for the cover and the new website I was working on. Do any of you like to get your picture taken? I do NOT.
My former head shot was fairly painless to obtain, because the photographer who was doing my daughter’s senior high school pictures allowed me to tag along and she took a couple of shots of me, too. So this was all about her, not me. Easier for me to manage not feeling awkward and such. Keep reading
