Abundance Mindset ✨🎁💥🧡

You may have heard of Deepak Chopra’s 21 Day Meditation Series.

I have participated in it many times. This year, I decided not to.

And then a friend invited me to a group practice of this meditation series. 🙂

The synchronicity of this was amazing to me. I wanted to do a free 21 Day Challenge in my Facebook Groups but, for various reasons, talked myself out of it.

And then this invitation showed up from my friend Deb to join her 21 Day event!

I decided it aligned with my goals and values to do this. I want to meditate every day so this would help me meet that goal. It provides a nice structure–structure is my friend– so I didn’t have to think about what to do. It involves journaling and I am a strong believer in the power of writing as a therapeutic and spiritual tool. I also value the power of a community of like-minded people all focusing their energies on the same goal. Keep reading

Emily Dickinson’s Poetry–it’s not just for kids :)

I had an Emily Dickinson Poetry book for kids years ago. In one of my frenzied de-cluttering efforts, I included it in the bags of books I donated. Now that new life has been breathed into my love of Emily Dickinson by way of Hailee Steinfeld’s #Dickinson (tired of hearing about that yet?), I want it back.

This book is sitting on my current writing desk

I am trying to console myself from missing it by imagining the book in the hands of someone who needed it more than I did and who loves it more than anything.

I decided to get it from the library before I buy it again. Maybe I just need to visit it. This book is organized according to the seasons. I decided to dive right into “Winter”. The illustrations really bring the words to vibrant life. They reach in and grab your heart and hold it tightly, just like Emily’s words. Keep reading

Writing Desk

Recently, I wrote about the magnificient Hailee Steinfeld’s Emily in Apple TV’s series, Dickinson.

I am still thinking of how I am going to pull this off in my current house. This isn’t about that. It’s not about the where. This is about the what.

This is about the desk.

So, I was at the Goodwill store with my husband this week, poking around to see what we could see, and there it was. The desk I had when I was a girl. Well, not the actual desk (I don’t think, but who knows? The Universe is amazing! Maybe it was the actual desk!) but one just like it. My heart stopped, the way it does when I walk into a book store. Sitting and flitting

I rarely have an unscheduled day but today, I did.

A day to do whatever I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it.

Started it off well as usual with #CeleryJuice (there is actually a new book coming out devoted entirely to the benefits of this: Medical Medium Celery Juice by Anthony William) and #HeavyMetalDetoxSmoothie (thank you for these, #MedicalMedium).

After that, it turned out to be a day of sitting and flitting from couch to computer to kitchen (#ilovealliteration) … I took periodic forays off the couch to do whatever popped into my head to do. I flitted from one thing to the next to the next without censoring my thoughts or impulses. Keep reading

WHO are you? My name is Andrea Maffeo and I am Karen’s sister-in-law.  LOL! I am a medical secretary and have worked for MGH Medical Group for 18 years now. I have been married for over 25 years to the most patient man a wife could ever ask for.  Honestly don’t know what I would do without him.

WHAT is your One Brave Thing? My one brave thing is not something you would expect…….but to me it was my one brave thing.  It’s not something I did for myself like overcome a fear, it’s something I did for someone else. Keep reading
